Silence, Speed, and 750km of Range: Redefining the Electric Benchmark

    The disruptor grows up.

For years, the Tesla Model 3 was the electric car you bought for the tech, despite the cabin noise and brittle ride. With the 2025 “Highland” refresh, the story has changed. Tesla hasn’t just tweaked the bumpers; they’ve finally given the Model 3 the refinement its performance deserves.

    The Verdict: Refined, Not Redefined

The first thing you notice is the silence. Thanks to 360-degree acoustic glass and improved suspension bushings, the “hollow” road noise of the previous generation is gone. It now glides with a European-style composure that makes it a legitimate rival to the BMW i4.

    The Good:

    • The Ride: The new frequency-selective dampers have transformed the car from “busy” to “pliant.” It handles Doha’s speed bumps and highways with newfound grace.
    • Efficiency: It remains the gold standard. Even with the AC blasting in the Qatar heat, the Model 3’s energy management outclasses almost everything else on the road.
    • Cabin Upgrades: Ventilated seats are a lifesaver in the Gulf, and the new 8-inch rear screen gives passengers a premium feel previously reserved for the Model S.

    The Not-So-Good:

    • The Stalkless Struggle: Removing the indicator stalks is a bold move that feels like an unnecessary hurdle. Navigating roundabouts while hunting for a thumb-button on a spinning wheel is an exercise in frustration.
    • Touch-Screen Everything: Shifting gears via the screen is fine once you’re used to it, but the lack of physical controls for wipers and mirrors remains a polarizing “Tesla-ism.”

    The “Highland” Evolution: Key Details

The latest update focused on aerodynamics, silence, and material quality—addressing long-standing criticisms of the original design.

    • Aerodynamic Sculpting: A sleeker, “nose-down” front end and sharper LED wing-shaped taillights have reduced the drag coefficient to 0.219, significantly boosting range.
    • 360° Acoustic Glass: Double-glazed windows are now standard on every door. Combined with better suspension bushings and sound-deadening materials, the cabin is notably quieter than its predecessor.
    • Ambient Lighting & Materials: The interior features a customizable 256-color LED light strip that wraps around the cabin, paired with softer, premium “vegan leather” and updated fabric textures.

    Innovative Tech & Features

    • The Dual-Screen Setup: In addition to the massive 15.4-inch front display, there is now an 8-inch rear touchscreen. This allows rear passengers to control their own climate, heated seats, and stream Netflix or YouTube during long drives.
    • Stalkless Steering: Tesla has removed the traditional turn signal and gear stalks. Turn signals are now tactile buttons on the steering wheel, and gear selection is handled via the touchscreen (with a backup physical selector on the roof console).
    • Ventilated Comfort: Front seats are now perforated and ventilated, a critical feature for the Gulf climate, allowing you to cool the seats remotely via the Tesla App before entering the car.
    • Next-Gen Performance: The Performance trim now includes Adaptive Damping for the first time, allowing the car to switch from a comfortable cruiser to a stiff, track-ready machine at the touch of a button.

    Pricing in Qatar (2025)

Official pricing is transparent through Tesla’s website, with financing options typically starting at 2.25% APR.

    • Rear-Wheel Drive: Starting from 144,990 QAR
    • Long Range RWD: Starting from 154,990 QAR
    • Long Range AWD: Starting from 174,990 QAR
    • Performance: Starting from 204,990 QAR

    Ownership & Maintenance

    • Service Center: Located in the Industrial Area (Doha), providing official support and mobile service technicians.
    • Tesla Superchargers: High-speed stations are now active at Doha Festival City, Place Vendôme, and Msheireb Downtown, with more planned across the country.
    • Warranty: 4 years/80,000 km basic warranty and 8 years for the battery and drive unit.
